Facebook new control over News Feed update explained

Facebook the big social media giant now introducing a tool. That allows users to give more control over their news feed on the platform. And also give users more control over their comments in their public post. There are also some other changes that are mention by the company. But overall this update is more focused on how you can connect with once who you like more on the platform.

The post that Facebook upload also explains why you see a particular type of content in your news feed. And how you can change it too. But first, see what Facebook says about it.

Several factors influence your suggested posts in News Feed such as:

• Related engagement: A post may be suggested for you if other people who interacted with the post also previously interacted with the same group, Page or post as you.
• Related topics: If you’ve recently engaged with a certain topic on Facebook, we may suggest other posts that are related to that topic. For example, if you recently liked or commented on a post from a basketball Page, we could suggest other posts about basketball.
• Location: You may see a suggested post based on where you are and what people near you are interacting with on Facebook.

Control your newsfeed –

Now, this can be very useful if you want to see the content that you like. Content from the peoples and pages who you like most. And that’s why the new tool will allow you to control and prioritize the post from the friends and pages. By selecting 30 pages and friends to include in your favourites. And a post from this favourite will rank higher in your news feed. So you can interact more with your liked pages and friends.

Manage favourite on the news feed –

1. Click  in the top right of Facebook.
2. Click Settings & Privacy.
3. Press News Feed Preferences.
4. Click Manage Favorites.
5. Select Favorites by clicking  next to a person or Page. To find specific Friends or Pages you follow, use the search bar. To remove a Favorite, click  next to the person or Page you want to remove.
6. When you are finished, click .

Control audience Comment –

This feature will especially target hate speech on the Facebook platform. That is increasing day by day. And now you can limit your commenting audience on your public post. So you can engage in more peaceful and meaningful interaction with your audience. And if you are a brand or a social influencer then its help you to handle your large audience.

Adjust the commenting audience in posts –

1. Click  in the top right of Facebook.
2. Select Settings & privacy, then click Settings.
3. Click Public posts on the left-hand side.
4. Go to Who Can Follow Me and make sure that Public is selected.
5. Click Edit next to Public post comments.

6. Select who is allowed to comment on your public posts:

   • Public: Includes everyone, even people who are not following you.
   • Friends: Includes your friends on Facebook. If anyone else is tagged in a post, then the audience expands to also include the tagged person and their friends.
   • Friends of friends: Includes all your friends and any friends they have.
